Baked Salsa
This appetizer is a family favorite best served hot with tortilla chips. I have doubled the original recipe because it is a popular dip and goes fast.
Ingredients
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
- 1 cup salsa
- 2 egg whites
Directions
- Pre-heat the oven to 350 and spray a round casserole dish, mine is about 8 inches in diameter and 5 inches high. It is important to have a tall enough dish because the dip rises in the oven.
- In a medium sized bowl mix the cheese, mayonnaise, and salsa.
- In a separate bowl whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- Carefully fold the whipped egg whites in to the cheese mixture.
- Pour mixture into the casserole dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
