Baked Salsa

Baked Salsa

This appetizer is a family favorite best served hot with tortilla chips. I have doubled the original recipe because it is a popular dip and goes fast.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 2 egg whites

Directions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 and spray a round casserole dish, mine is about 8 inches in diameter and 5 inches high. It is important to have a tall enough dish because the dip rises in the oven.
  2. In a medium sized bowl mix the cheese, mayonnaise, and salsa.
  3. In a separate bowl whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  4. Carefully fold the whipped egg whites in to the cheese mixture.
  5. Pour mixture into the casserole dish.
  6. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
