Chewy Salted Almond Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

3 Cups AP Flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp sea salt

2 sticks room temperature salted butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/4 cup brown sugar lightly packed

1 1/2 tsp vanilla

1/2 tsp almond extract

2 large eggs

2 cups chocolate chips

Flakey sea salt

Directions

  1. pre-heat oven to 350
  2. Beat the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until creamy. Add vanilla, almond extract, and eggs.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, and 1 tsp fine sea salt. Mix to combine completely. Mix in chocolate chips.
  4. Place large scoops of the cookie dough (I used about 1/4-1/3 cup but you can make them smaller. If you make them smaller adjust cook time so that they are not over baked). Bake 11-15 minutes or until the edges just start to turn golden.
  5. Remove pan from oven and immediately sprinkle with flakey sea salt, gently pat the salt in so that it sticks.
  6. Let cool on the pan for 5ish minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
